Do plants "die" in the same way as animals.

Is there any hope of reviving a plant which has gone a bit ... err ... "crispy" ?

I'm sorry to say that all hope is lost....Hope you give it a good send-off, as it goes to the great compost heap in the sky
None whatsoever.
Unless it's a fern which might resurrect itself if you trim all the dead off, water and hope for the best.

Chuck it - life's too short x
Have you tried black coffee? Andro (my plant) likes coffee... I'm taking him home this week at some point, I've decided he needs re-potting or something... Actually he probably needs some light too, I'd better put him by the window for a bit.

Maybe some plant food and water will help your plant?

No, it's a palm thingy.

Like a big, rough trunk, and then it all splays out from the top. The leaves have lots of long, spiky green bits.

About 4ft tall, and 4-5ft wide.

And, currently ... a bit crispy.

One of those.

Coffee ?

Black or white ??
A crispy palm....what have you been doing JJ ? ;-)
Hi JJ! x

Do plants "die" in the same way as animals. - some do

Is there any hope of reviving a plant which has gone a bit ... err ... "crispy" ? - All depends on which type of plant it is. Can you post a picture of it? With a bit of re-potting and watering, or watering alone you can bring back certain dead plants. I speak (write) from experience.

cut off the dead bits, plus the top nch of trunk keep watered and it might regrow....don't give up for at least 6 months
Question Author
6 months ??

Oh, sod that ... it would have to go in the wheelie bin.

I can see the headlines now ...

"Nation outraged as lady caught on CCTV putting palm tree in wheelie bin"
Sorry I didn't get back to you immediately, would you believe I fell asleep...
Some fool just called and woke me up. I answered and they remained mute.

Anyway cut off all the dry bits and give it a good soaking for the first time. Leave it alone and don't water for the next ten to two weeks. Then water but don't give it as much as the first watering. And do talk to the poor baby while you are tending it. :-)
that should be ten days ^^^^ sleep is still in my eyes.
Question Author
Okay, I'll try that.

(but not the "talking to it" bit)
You want to hear a funny story JJ? :-)

My Mum told me they had an avocado tree planted. It was there for many years and was not producing any fruit. So her dad took a machete and threatened the tree that he will cut it down if it doesn’t bear any avocados. She said not long after the tree started bearing avocados, so much that they were able to sell avocados by the bags. Sounds crazy eh...? I do talk to my plants, but, I'm not crazy. :-)
