I made a Father Christmas card a couple of years ago which worked really nicely. I cut a blank card (available from Hobbycraft or for cheaper at places like The Works)into a sort of rounded off cone then stuck red paper to fit the top of the cone (for his hat) and for the botton of the cone (for his coat and trousers) so that if you divided the card into 4 equal bits (using horizontal lines) just the 3rd section from the bottom was showing, this was his face then drew on features like a mouth, arms with mittened hands, a belt and shoes with a black felt tip and used googly eyes and a red pom pom for his nose and a white pom pom for the bobble on his hat. Hope that all makes sense, was very quick to do and imagine if you got all the shapes the same you could cut lots of bits of red paper at once to make it quicker!
Any home made card would be a nice touch but make sure it doen't look like the next doors 5yr olds did it.

My neighbours neice, who is 23, makes cards and although she tries hard it looks like a toddler has done it. She hasn't improved in years of trying!!!

Hi zzxxee
I make all my own Xmas cards every January by chopping bits off all the cards we receive at Xmas.
I know it's no good for you at the mo, but it's an idea worth bearing in mind for next year
