Sorry, but mormons used to call at my house on their "mission". They were nice, but rather robotic for my taste. This is coming from an Osmond fan of old. My favourite was Merrill, "the voice".
Sir AlecC I did not chose it for it's 'Mormon' origin (which it has not) rather the words to comfort dear friends here who have been deeply affected by grief recently, indeed today.
Surely the original came from Carousel, when Shirley Jones (of Partridge Family fame), sang it. I am not slagging off your choice, I love the song, especially being a Beatles fan, I love the Gerry and the Pacemakers version. It was played at my uncle Ron's funeral - he was there at the Hillsborough disaster and helped as he was a St Johns ambulance member.
Absolutely not, as an occasional poster you will not know my style, I do not patronise and meant no harm, just a good wish to those those in need of some support.
Sorry, I have been solely looking after my Dad, who has memory problems, for the last eight years. I haven't been out with friends in all this time and I'm feeling sorry for myself as I've got shingles, which is excruciatingly painful and has been caused by stress. I wouldn't wish it on anybody.
