Thanks welsh. The earliest the engineers can come out is at the end of July (on my birthday - nice way to spend it) Still worse things happen at sea as they say :-)
Welshy, you are obviously my soul-mate, or at least one of them. I too hate housework and only do enough to keep the dirt at bay. Ironing is kept to the very minimum and I try to buy non-iron stuff when I renew anything.
Chris, good pay I suppose, but the work sounds absolutely hectic. Interesting though I am sure. Glad to know you are not doing it all the time. The pace would kill you!
SJ, yes, suppose so!........hopefully they will find the problem and waiver the bill!.......they should!......they must realise that you could not be using that amount of water!........Don't worry, it'll be sorted!..........
Sorry boxy missed your post. I wonder how many people get meters fitted and have absolutely no idea that they have a water leak. There must be quite a few. So much damage can be done to your property if it happens and you don`t know about it. It`s like having a spring under your house. That can`t be good.
The trouble with leaks is you don't know they are going on until a lot of water has run away. Unless they are inside and obvious. Apparently even a dripping tap will use up an enormous amount of water over time.
Well I must admit I did look at the skirting board in the corner of the living room a while ago and wondered why it looked a bit odd. It`s not damp to feel but the paint has blistered a bit. That`s a bit suspect. Luckily for me the kitchen is at the front of the house so there are no pipes (apart from soil pipe) going under the rest of the house.
SJ, sure you'll have it sorted soon!...........just don't pay any huge bill fotr water that has leaked!.........argue, and keep arguing with them!.......
