Cameron says if only Gaddafi would relinquish power he could enjoy his retirement in Libya.
Seems a fair offer to me.

originally cameron insisted that he leave libya altoghether. the counter-request/offer came from gadaffi and generally met agreement with the 'rebels', france and other allies.

cameron tried to stick by his guns and insist he left libya and now this is seen as a large embarassment to cameron (and the uk) on the international stage.
who gave us the right to decide who runs a country

imagine some president telling cameron and the queen to stand down and leave this country

then along with some other countries started to bomb towns and cities here killing women and children
Wow I can't imagine why he wouldn't trust a man who a month ago supported the issuance of an ICC arrest warrant against him can you?

Gadaffi may be reluctant to step down because he fears what the new regime in Libya might do to him. If Cameron was to offer asylum here in the UK it might speed his going.
