I was going on about the past house owners who had been away for a week or two and found squatters in their homes when they returned!

She is not referring to privately owned homes, nor occupied homes of any sort.
I disagree with the 'squatting' laws but it is a fact that there are thousands of properties that have been empty for years, some for decades.
