Now my lupins have finished flowering do I cut the flowering woody stems down to the ground? They are covered in aphids and the rest of the foilage looks pretty sticky and grotty too. I have sprayed them regularily. Any advice welcome. Judy
I cut my lupins back when they are half finished flowering. This way the flowering season can be prolonged by a month at least, because the plant puts far more energy into making the seed than the flower. So basically dont let it go to seed . The seed starts to develop as soon as the flower starts to fade
