My Ex wife, daughter and grandson visited me today and remarked how warm my lounge was considering I didn't have the heating on.
I told them it was probably the scented candle that had been lit for 4 hours and a half and the kitchen and lounge doors had been closed. They both cracked up laughing in disbelief.
My lounge is about 15x15 feet, do you think I am right as, I told them I would find out from the brainy ones on here?
In one of the Enid Blyton books 6 candles were known to light and heat a room. I do not think 1 of them could do this unless it was a very small room and very well insulated.
Did you have any sunlight where you are that would account for a lot, or maybe it was cold outside and once you come in from the cold it always seems warmer than it actually is.
I'm certain it wouldn't heat a room that size, which is similar to mine. When we last had a power cut there were eight candles lit and there was no discernible rise in temperature.
well seeing as trt hasnt replied since his original post at 19.18 the reason for the heat may be the fact that he has set fire to his curtains!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What aspect does your lounge have? eg does it have windows that face south?
I have a south facing living room with a bay window that is chilly in the morning and fine on a sunny winter afternoon - but gets too hot for comfort in summer if it is sunny.
