pc monitors

I have been looking through pc world and Argos for a larger computer monitor possibility 20inch. I note that there is hardly any with built in speakers .Is there any reason why so many with both companies do not have speakers. . It looks like the one I am after I will have to buy separate speakers.

Generally the built in speakers in monitors sound rubbish though.

Just my opinion but inbuilt speakers have always sounded tinny anyway. Even a cheap pair of externals give better sounds.

Thanks chuck yes seen that one . Most say poor speaker quality. So I may be better to buy one with separate speakers

I've never expected speakers with a monitor. Always had separate.
Allows you to choose the quality you want. Or even feed into your surround sound HiFi for fully immersive game playing (wish I could be bothered).

I have a Samsung 'all in one' PC and the sound quality is excellent.

I have a Packard Bell 20'' Monitor with built in Speakers and it's pretty good actually. Not as good as a proper Stereo System but good enough

my pc is packard bell new windows 7 and was looking for packard bell monitor. I am still using the smaller monitor that came with the last pb computer. Thank you for replies . I just wondered if there was a reason why not many had the built in speakers.

Thanks redman the 20inch packard monitor I was after at currys a couple of weeks ago is not availabe any more.Will have a look again.

Redman they have not got a 20 inch one . I bet that is the one I saw a few weeks ago but not there now. Thanks
