Desktop not connecting to internet.

My laptop and android phone all connect so modem is working Ok but cannot connect the desktop. Any help appreciated, many thanks.

How are you trying to connect your desktop ? What OS are you using on both of your computers?

laptop is wifi but desktop is wired, strangely enough it came back on 24hrs later.
