have you ever exchanged gifts with someone only to realise you have both bought each other identical things?

i havent - but i almost have... my sister has given me for my birthday last week - the exact thing i have bought her for xmas...

i considered swapping it with the gift i have for my SIL - both are as nice - but it would still look odd if i give it to SIL in front of sis on xmas day...

haha...out to the shops i go tomorrow...

Not christmas gifts but last time i went shopping with my daughter we went separate ways in the shop we met up after a while and wed both picked nearly identical red leather bags

Not presents but last year I opened a christmas card from my dad and it was the exact same one that I'd put in the post to him the day before... we have a very similar sense of humour.

my sister rang me to tell me she was getting a kindle for my mum and dad. My mum took me aside to tell me she'd got my dad an e reader. The same day my dad asked me what he could buy my mum and said he was thinking of getting her a kindle. HELP!

well as my mum was the only one who'd actually bought it, i told her to ring my sister, then told dad that my mum dosen't read much and would prefer an ipod

You are an infinitely nicer and more practical person than me... I would probably have just drunk the gin and forgot about it, I'm not a very helpful person to be around with regards to christmas presents, I have enough problems thinking of ideas. This year a lot of people at work got scarves...

I had to google the marrons glace, never heard of them before. I think I'd be pretty happy to receive any of those... I got my favourite consultant a lizard statue thing for her garden, it's got thos mosaic tiles on... I've no idea if she likes lizards but she gets me a lot of weird stuff and I liked the colours. I have images of her opening it and asking 'what the hell is this?' to her children...
