Someone dies on a cruise

around the med (or so we are told) I can find no trace of a death certificate. Where would the death be registered do you think. The cruise was in or arounf Portugal at the time. TIA

the ship's doctor would probably have recorded the death in the ship's log but whether he was lso abl to register the death is another issue, the death certificate would have been issued on the doctors pronounement of the death unless it was referred to a coroner on land, which is more likely.

They are obligated under the Merchant shipping act 1995 to keep details of deaths at sea but like I say, the issuing of a copy of a death registration is not done by a doctor they would only confirm the death.
