have you ever known a more milder winter?

Its now nearly the end of January but, I cant remember a winter that has been so mild.
When I think back years ago it used to be about 6'' to a foot in the winter but, we still went to school and my parents always made it to work!!!!!

I remember them days lad. The snow used to come up over your wellies and you had a red ring around your little chapped legs. I think it was because our legs were shorter then. But you are right, this winter it seems much milder than usual. However, there is still February to go, I hope we haven't spoken too soon.
too right ayg...but it is vert mild...the climates gone mad...it just seems like its high winds at the moment...
IMHO Mother Nature is showing us who the Boss is and it's NOT us!!!
It won't snow..................I bought a snow shovel in August.
lol Craft, my snow shovel is on it's last legs, I'm hoping I don't need to buy another one yet.
Craft - guaranteed, we bought salt/grit for the path so now it won't freeze either
Aye - I remember the chilblains well! The wet feet where my wellies leaked in the snow, also the sore chapped nose where my dewdrop froze. And the dangling gloves which were threaded on elastic through the sleeves of my coat. The little one third pint bottles of school milk where the cream froze and rose above the neck of the glass milk bottle, the crates had to be put in front of the roaring log fire in the school room (H&S eat your heart out!) to thaw out! LOL :)
Oh Ann, you didn't half bring back the memories - had forgotten about the bottles of milk lol. Think another major change is that primary schoolchildren (boys and girls) can wear long trousers. In my day it was shorts for boys and gymslips or skirts for girls in all weathers.
