I used to live in USA and had an incident with a bloke in a bar which ended up with me punching him. The guy turned out to be Capitol Police and I was arrested for assault. Rather than run the risk of being someones bitch in prison I came back to UK without going to court. Does anyone know if I will be arrested if I travel back to the USA. This happened about 4 years ago.( he deserved it by the way)

There's a good chance you would get picked up by immigration and arrested or at best refused admission to the US.

Applying for a visa might give you an idea of what might happen - if you get refused you'll at least save the risk of arrest.

what would be even worse, presumably, is if they recognised your name, didn't refuse to let you into the country, but called the cops once you were there. I wouldn't risk it, to be honest. Police everywhere have long memories.
