Hi there, how`s the old ticker treating you? I have another problem with my hands as they keep going into `cramp` although I take Quinine daily, and it`s very uncomfortable.

OK....back now.
Well, from 1000miles away it looks as though you might have an electrolyte problem, possibly a loss of potassium made worse by your diuretic Frusemide.

The quick way to support or disprove my diagnosis would be to ask your GP if you could have your blood electrolytes measured......simple blood test.

The slow way would be to eat 3 or 4 bananas a day and the odd orange thrown in and if your cramps improve, then my diagnosis is confirmed, but if not, i will give you your money back ;-)

Yes, yes, I know you also have Type2 diabetes, but my answer still stands.
hi carlton. as you know im no expert ! but i know you have copd which has been worse recently. im wondering if your o2/co2 levels are relevant re the cramping ?

Sqad, you banana advise did the biz for the hand cramps, thanks. To add to my list of tablets you may add Spironlacone
Spironolactone is a diuretic which has the potential to "leak" potassium which may be the cause of your cramps.....glad i was of some help......keep knocking those bananas back ;-)
Sqad - spiranolactone is a potassium sparing/retaining diuretic!
Nice to see that you are ticking along nicely Sqad !! All the best
red...yes.....back to normal now.....swimming and Club at lunchtime...thanks.

slaney....."Sparing" means "minimized"...........in my experience.
