I made a promise to myself this morning, that I'd lay off AB for a couple of hours so I can get a jump on the housework, do you think I made good on that promise?.........not a bit of it, and now it's lunchtime, so I have to eat. God I'm such a bad housewife!

I'm a tidy person so clean up as I go along. I tidy my bedroom before I come downstairs in the morning. Living room is always tidy. Clean the kitchen when the boys leave for school. Clean the bathroom when I have a shower. Then I just have the hoovering and mopping and the little extras which I do throughout the day.

I normally like to keep things tidy and clean, probably a bit obsessive but I have, unfortunately (?), found the perfect antidote. Last Thursday I had a hysterectomy and I'm not allowed (dr's orders) to hoover, iron, change beds etc. for six weeks! So I have to fill my time with reading, tv, computer, quizzes, jigsaws etc. It's very easy to get used to this life of idleness!
Thanks for your good wishes. I had the op. by keyhole surgery so I was only in hospital for two days. I feel absolutely fine and a bit of a fraud, to be honest, just sitting around but obviously things need to heal internally. Still, I'm a very good director of operations to my husband who is really looking after me so well.
