I had some minor treatment at the hospital yesterday and am off work now for a few days. I'm not to left or bend and have some meds to take every few hours but otherwise and thankfully, I'm perfectly OK.

So ...... what to do other than eat!?

I'm listening to radio 4, I've lightly cleaned the kitchen, I can do a bit of planning for my holiday. I've read the news online and sent a few emails and texts. I'm off for a wander round the garden, but I'll be back for your suggestions for my afternoon if you have any!

Please go around to my house to sort my drawers out
All I need is a little help
glad you are ok after your hospital visit.

if you like walking, can you go for a stroll down the road?
do you have a friend or two who can visit and lighten up your day?
do you do crosswords or jigsaws?
I can easily lose an hour playing scrabble & solitaire!
Download bookworm from bigfish games and we will see you back in about a fortnight

the bosslady is also bored.... she had her bunions sorted three weeks ago and is still pretty immobile, of course I'm back to work today.....

ric.ror - I fear your drawers are beyond me. My advice is to gaffer tape them up and if you haven't needed anything from them in 6 months then chuck them out altogether!

Thanks for games ideas - and the Free Rice link which is addictive. I will go for a stroll in a little while and be back in time for afternooon tea.
Join the gang! Had my op on Friday, still hobbling a bit.
Have spent most of my time on here, xBox or watching IPL cricket and Dave, though I doubt any of those will inspire you, sorry Maidup!

I've been for a stroll around the field; it was delightful. The sun's out and the bluebells, buttercups and forget-me-nots all cheered me up no end.

I wish you well philtaz and although you're right, I'm not a great fan of cricket or xbox, I'm grateful for your reply and glad of the company.
Sorry to hear that Maidup. My Sis in law just texted me, she is laid up. She found that she has a blood clot in her leg, now has to have daily injections in her stomach and take varying doses of warfarin for the next 3-6 months. She's bored stiff, has to sit with her leg up, doesn't read much and lives miles away so I can't pop in to visit her.
Take it easy, hope you get well soon. I'm doing my family tree which is taking some doing.
Maidup,
Whilst you're out walking, what about this or similar?

Get well soon to your sil AYG and thanks for that suggestion Philatz - I'll have a good look at those surveys for sure. Want a great link, I should make more of the BBC website than I do.
You're welcome.
Cricket just starting, in case it's too cold/wet to go out walking. 20/20 is an exciting format, you might enjoy it!
When I was a bit immobile after my hip replacement I knitted baby hats for the prem unit at the local hospital. After 36 hats, I hope I never see another one!!

LOL maggie, 36 little heads were warmed and comforted though.
You're (doubtless) missing a good game here Maidup!
As Rowan says, Bigfish is a good site, bookworm is addictive, shockwave.com have some good games too.

Hope your recovery is swift. Take care xx
I'm glad you started this thread maidup, I'll be looking into the Bigfish/bookworm sites now.
