They had a bit of a computer problem since mid June and thousands of their customers weren't able to access accounts on-line.
Looking at the details of my account this morning, the first time in almost a month, I see I've been charged £20. I must have inadvertently went into the red at some stage.
They have a blooming cheek!
'blooming cheek' wasn't exactly the phrase that first came to mind

challenge it and ask for compo for all the inconvenience at least that should cancel out the £20.
you should challenge it, as this has happened to lots of customers, some have found themselves owing thousands, due to non payment, caused by the banks of direct debits, wages into the bank, and businesses who have seen their invoices not paid. Its their error, tell them in no uncertain terms what you think

I'm going to challenge it and when the dust has settled move my direct debits and close the account.
Incidentally, on the first day of the computer trouble someone went to the same ATM in Belfast 80 times and withdrew £40,000.
They were described in newspaper reports as 'a foreign national' so I'd guess they won't be around now to answer any correspondence from the bank.
