Bras do vary according to the make: I have bras in different cup sizes, so it is best to try them on before buying.
a few years ago a good friend of mine opened a lingerie shop in a busy market town, she went for a two day course on bra & girdle fitting and my OH noticed that everyone who bought a bra there came out with their tits pointing up to heaven ! he even remarked that he could pick women out in the town who bought from her ! she then got the nickname Madam Spirella.
pheb so sorry to pinch your thread no offence meant but does anyone remember the Spirella lady ?my mum used to get fitted and buy from them and she was always trussed up like a paratooper.
i'm surprised all the lads have not leapt at this, offering to take your measurements themselves!
If it sits in my hand its bloody big, how that for starters.
phleb, I am a world renowned expert in this field.

If you would care to post a few pictures of the aforementioned boobies I will tell you exactly what size they are.
I am also a pervert, but Mrs D says that like it's a bad thing.

Duncer, that made me laugh, im sorry my camera doesnt work, will webcam do???. Dee sa, thats what i want, them pointing up and not down like spanials ears. Dont worry about pinching my thread, its not really mine...is it?? lol at one time i had a 24 inch waist and my boobs would stick out so much, i wasn't allowed out alone, i always told my mother i am not alone, i have my two companians, mum said that was the problem!!! lol ;-) i have put on a few stone since then, which i am workiing on losing.

Infomaniac, they dont let you try them on do they?
I've always understood that the cup size is graded on how much bigger the bosom is that the measurement under the bosom. Whatever fits you is the important thing - I'm 36b in M&S, that's what I believe.
Question Author
yes, it fits me round the cup bit, but rides up the back? what am i doing wrong? also i have worn wrong sizes for so long, that i have chunks of fat under my armpits, bit like another boob? i need to get rid of that, but first need to establish what my actual size is. Does ann summers do measurements? we have one not far from us, but too shy to go in.
Which one fitted you the best?

I use Debenhams because from experience they are the best for measuring.
Most people wear bras too small. Most of the problems with bras like it riding at up the back...boobs popping out..etc...is because the bra is too small.
having worked in debenhams next door to the lingerie department for alot of years i know that the trained bra fitters there used to be excellent and had certificates to show their level of training, not sure but i think they probably still are the same.
They were the last time I went, Dot.
it costs debenhams alot of money to train them and so i half expected the training program to have lapsed, though i know there are women still there who have been there 30 odd years .
The last time I was "measured" te lady did not use a tape measure, she just looked at me. She said they are not allowed to touch anymore. She went and got some bras and told me to try them on. A real assortment of shapes and sizes, eventually found one that fitted and she said it was the right size. A strange way of doing it I thought.
