No, Christians should not start rioting - and why Christians anyway? There are people in all walks of life who find the poisoning of young minds equally appalling.

naomi24 has made the point I was going to make.
Why Christians specifically? Why not Hindus, Sikhs, Jews, Christians, Athiests, Bhuddists?
No - the way to deal with this is to expose this vile use of children(in the same way that some other faiths brainwash their kids) - by all means, if you have faith and want to pass it onto your children, go ahead, but when your faith embraces hatred of others...that's where the line is crossed.

Pretty much everyone who is a non-muslim, and a significant number of muslims, come to that, have been outraged and offended at the reports of murder and shocked at the sight of mobs storming embassies, burning flags and all the rest of it. This is a deadly equivalent of a childs temper tantrum, and we all rightly condemn such actions.
And you think that "christians all over the world should rise up?" First off, it is not just christians who will be disgusted at such behaviours - any rational individual would be. Secondly, were people to respond in such a manner, it would bring them down to the level of behaviour exhibited so graphically over the last week or so... Not something to be wished for..
I can only hope you meant your original post in an ironic or sarcastic way, rather than advocating the widespread adoption of the tactics of mob rule....

Naomi, em and sp,
Don't believe you recognised the irony in my header? Of course we, as still a predominantly Christian nation, won't start rioting as a result of an 8 year old innocent being used as a pawn in a far more sinister game. It is just not in our psyche, is it?
I mean, idiot extremists here, i.e. EDL, BNP, Al Ghurabaa etc, are very poorly supported overall, are they not? We don't even riot when loads of Muslim extremists scream dog's abuse at our returning squaddies from Iraq and Afghanistan when those heroes 'dare' to parade through an English town?
BOO and Lazy Gun 'got it'. I'm certainly not trying to trivialise a serious issue, but if Muslim extremists are desperate enough to stoop as low as an 8 year old child, without a backlash, does it not therefore underline THEIR intolerance of overwhelmingly Christian countries? Not to mention their own recent - and ongoing - rioting over a supposed slight against the prophet Mohammed - yet again?

/// We don't even riot when loads of Muslim extremists scream dog's abuse at our returning squaddies from Iraq and Afghanistan when those heroes 'dare' to parade through an English town? ///
But when a group like the EDL, does try to take a stance against such things, they are called idiot extremists as you chose to call the, racists and fascists, no wonder they don't attract a more representative class of persons from the citizens of this country.
It makes one wonder if these abusive descriptive words are used so as to dissuade the more tolerant but concerned persons from joining their ranks in protest.
Who do you suggest should protest at the attitude of some towards our Armed Forces, our Laws, and our culture, Who is there?

Yes, but that's because they are extremists. The vast majority of people simply aren't extreme (be very definition).
People are a bit savvy. All they need to do is jump on the Internet, look at the BNP Facebook page and read some of the comments on there about black, gays and Asians.
Very few educated people would have anything to do with these...ummm...views.

/// AOG, many still associate groups like EDL, BNP with neo Nazi's and so i wouldn't be supporting them any day soon. ///
I did not mention the BNP only the EDL, but still your response is exactly the type of thing I am talking about.
"Give a dog a bad name and he will carry it forever".
Can you personally (not what you have heard others say) prove categorically that the EDL can be associated with a Neo-Nazi group?
/// Neo-Nazism borrows elements from Nazi doctrine, including militant nationalism, racism, xenophobia, homophobia, and anti-Semitism. Holocaust denial is a common feature, as is incorporation of Nazi symbols and admiration of Adolf Hitler. ///
1/ They don't follow the Nazi doctrine.
2/ They are not militant nationalistic.
3/ They are not racist (Islam is not a race).
4/ They are not xenophobic.
5/ They are not homophobic.
6/ They are not anti-Semitic.
7/ They do not deny that the Holocaust existed.
8/ They do not admire Adolph Hitler.
What they are against is the spread of Islam into this country, and that can't be all that bad.
What is also a fact, that like all such protest groups you will always get some thugs that are 'just along for the fight', especially when egged on by opposing groups.
