For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I think the reason he is now the youngest Englishman to reach 7000 is that they play more Test matches closer together,with less minor games in between.I remember in the 50's when the Aussies toured over here they would play nearly every County before each Test so that all the tourists would get a game and acclimatised to the conditions.Now it's just a couple of warm up games play the series and move on to the next country.
