Pain Sensitivity When Have A Cold

I'm coming down with a cold and have noticed that, as always when I get a cold, I am much more sensitive to pain, the tiniest thing like brushing tangles out of my hair makes me wince. Is this a common thing and is there any explanation for it?

I don't have a scientific explanation but I get that too.

Maybe Sqad will explain but my elder son used to say 'Mum, I've got 'the skin' and he meant his skin was tender to the touch whenever he was going down with anything - still gets it at 29! It goes when the virus goes.

Abnormal skin sensations (paraesthesia) is often associated with infections, particularly viral infections.......the classsical example is Herpes Zoster (shingles).

Can I explain this?..........NO!

Thanks all, are colds caused by viruses? It's very uncomfortable, am overly sensitive to things being cold too.
