New Composite Door

We've had a new composite door fitted and we have to push hard to lock it properly.

Has anyone had a new composite door fitted with the same problem?

Also, did they fit yours with Chrome hinges?

Modern composite and uPVC doors & frames have several adjusting points. You can alter almost anything on them. It really shouldn't be hard work after proper adjustment.

I don't know about the finish on the hinges, but it should make no difference.

I've recently be getting quotes for a new front door. I can't comment on the fit, but sure;y there is a myriad of adjustments that can be made to get a good fit, but the hinges and other door furniture are part of the specification I've discussed with the fitter.

Had one fitted a couple of months ago, absolutely no problems but they did say that sometimes an adjustment may be required and to just call them back.

A decent firm should have offered a range of door furniture for that door, get them back in, it's not difficult to swap the items out.
As The builder says, there are adjustments on the door hinges and locks that can be altered but it sounds like the frame might be slightly out - again get them back in, composite door frames have to be spot on !
