Home kits cant cope with white hair - any wonder I have time to type this? Use a salon for a pro tint !

The tints and shampoos which are used to keep white hair 'white' or ash blonde hair from going brassy or yellowing is lilac/purple. Maybe they left it on a touch too long. It's a similar technique used to give the blue or purple rinse effect so beloved of ladies of a certain age. It's just left on longer.
