I just tried to send someone a message on Facebook and it said it would cost 70p to send it? It won't let me send it unless I pay 70p? I am not in the country at the moment could that be the reason?
No it's just someone I met yesterday. I didn't want to add them as a friend though. I can't believe I have to pay nearly a pound to send someone a message!
Reading the article linked to by slaney, it would seem that neither Facebook nor a number of its users have heard of e-mail, which allows you to send messages to people who are not in your friends list for free.
Thanks for the responses. Sorry I couldn't reply, my phone went all gay and lost it's signal. Meh.
Anyway, I had no email address, I'm afraid. It was someone I met that worked at the place I was. He said "I'm on Facebook, my name is....*and wrote it down*" That was that". Found him, came up with the whole "it will cost you £ to send this person a message"....
