When I take the roast out of the oven, my husband says, 'That looks lovely where's yours?'
It's getting a bit boring after 35 years but I still manage to smile.

Fool him..................cook 2 and take the littlest out first.
say "this is mine - yours is still in the freezer "
Tilly, ((hugs)) time he cooked for you!
I'd do cheese on toast for him next Sunday then tilly..

..mind you, mr sloop would gnaw me arm off for that
Lol, bless him. You should have a teeny lamb chop hiding behind the roast and say " Here is it!".
I have to smile at my husband ...well a sort of grimace....when I say I'm going to the hairdresser (usually every 5=6 weeks) he always says 'But you only went last week'. Or when I cook a meal he'll say 'Don't do a lot for me' but manages to eat more of it than I do.

Askyourgran, mine always says that, as well. 'Going to the hairdressers, again? It doesn't need doing' When I come home, he always says,'No way are you sixty!'
Again , I smile.
Growing up it was a family joke that every Sunday having served up a full roast my father would tell my mother 'the bread's good'. I'm not sure she found it funny.
just hit him with the roast,,,, you will feel better honestly :)

Especially if it's frozen!

Do you remember the Roald Dahl story, 'Lamb to the Slaughter' in which the wife kills her husband with a frozen leg of lamb and the investigating policemen eat it when it's cooked?
Question Author
I like that idea, magsmay. I might just try that.
