How Deep Should A Gas Pipe Be In Your Garden

and can it be moved. Seems to be taking up a valuable space in my garden, and because of this, my drive is smaller than expected. I need it to be moved, but what are the costs? thanks

Depends where it is phleb, but yes, only 375mm minimum in your garden.

Everything's movable. It's just the cost.
Is this a mains supply from the road, or your own LPG tank supply?

Hi the builder, its a mains supply from the road? I also have a lead water pipe on the other side ( this driveway is stressing me out) and I want to move it, my builder said he can convert the lead pipe to a plastic pipe, is he right? How is it done? I wont be touching the gas pipe though, as too much hassle. its either move the gas pipe or push the water pipe further away?

The gas supply pipe (up to the meter) would have to be re-routed by whoever is the gas infrastructure company for your area (not necessarily the one you pay the bill to.)
They'll quote a price for the work.

Either replace the lead water pipe completely, or cut it, and add a fitting that connects to blue polyethylene (MDPE pipe).
I've always done it the "old-school" way of reaming out the centre of the lead and forcing a length of copper tube in there. You simply "sweat" the joint then.
Of course, that now offends Water By-Laws for some reason, so a fitting called "Leadlok" is used. (Plumbers' Merchants.)
Takes all the fun out of it ;o(

Anyway, probably leave the gas alone but route a new length of MDPE wherever you like.
