Sore Finger

I hit my little finger on something last night and it is really painful. It is near finger nail , really swollen and hot and so tender to touch. There is some pus starting to ooze out of it now. Any advice on what I could put on it ? TIA

Get as much pus out as you can. Savlon, tcp or similar might help. Even soak in salt water.

put some soap on a sticky plaster and leave it on your finger over night. it will draw out the pus. It really does work.

There obviously is an infection. It should heal itself, though. See a doctor if you get a temperature, don't feel well or it starts getting worse

could it really get infected from just hitting it ?

It is if it has pus in it. You've damaged the skin and something has got in somewhere. I'm sure will heal naturally, but you can help it with antibacterial / antiseptic creams and soaks

Bit odd that pus has formed within 24 hours...........

I agree with pixie, if you feel well in yourself, e.g no temperature, then it should settle without medical assistance.
