If a car is parked for a long time in the same spot in a road which has no parking restrictions, how long can it stay there before being reported to police or whoever?

I suppose you could report it as suspicious whenever you wanted. As long as it had up to date road tax and wasn't of interest to the police I don't know it could be moved. Can't remember SORN rules but I'm sure others will.
As long as it is taxed and insured it can stay as long as the owner wants it to.
SORN doesn't apply to something on the road Svejk

It's Statutory *Off Road* Notification

Eddie's Right but the police won't be too interested even if these expire unless it's causing an obstruction, they'd probably refer you to the Council
I'd still report it incase it's been stolen and dumped.
Ring Environmental Services at the council. They might be able to help.
There is no time limit on reporting validly parked cars to the police or whoever.
P.S. How long has the one you refer to been there ?
I think we can eliminate the possibility it has been reported as stolen, it would flag up in the number plate recognition system every time a police car drove past.
I would probably give it a few weeks and then phone the council. We had a car dumped on the road here and it was taxed. The council said that they would still be interested in it though. They put a notice on the front asking the owner to contact them and if they didn`t it would be removed (which it was)
Eddie, I don't think all police cars have ANPR cameras, just a select few.
Eddie, police round here don't regularly drive up and down roads, infact they only come when they really, really have to.
I recently reported an abandoned car to our local council after it had been parked in the same spot for four months, partially blocking the pavement. They weren't interested and said they couldnt do anythng as it was taxed. As soon as the tax ran out I reported it again and within 2 days it had been removed by the council.
In my experience the council are very quick to remove non road legal cars. Report it to them.

(It wasn't my car removed, one I reported)
