Clean Before The Cleaner Comes

My two daughters have both got cleaners but the strange thing is they both clean before the cleaner comes.
I don't see the point but they tell me that this is what most people do. I wonder if any ABers do this and why?

I always tidied and put stuff away that was lying around but never cleaned.

I had a cleaner when I worked full time. Yes, I cleaned before she got here, I cleaned everyday regardless. She was employed to do the small jobs. Clean the wood work, hunt the cobwebs, clean the light switches....small stuff I didn't have time to do.

my gran had a "home help" and she always cleaned her house before the woman got there "in case she tells everyone that I am dirty ".
