Cameron is full of hot air. There will be NO referendum this side of an election, and Merkle, Mr Juncker, and the British public knows that. The reason why voters are leaving the Conservatives and voting UKiP is because of the lies he constantly spins.

They last said that the election outcome would help determine the next president of the commission. The EPP grouping is the major grouping (which Cameron pulled his MPs out of) so he lost his right to influence their choice (which ended up being Junkers). Now Cameron wants to ignore the earlier commitment to recognizing the election as influencing the choice. UK conservatives will be slaughtered in the next general election, irrespective of his claims regarding a referendum. Nobody believes that the other EU countries will make further concessions to the UK and nobody thinks either that the conservatives (the party of business) would really pull Britain out of a market of 500 million people (referendum or not). The party would split like Labour did in the 1980s with the formation of the SDP.

HOW CAMERON DOESN'T GET EUROPE:

The EU President is decided by the political group that gets the most MEPs in the EU Parliament. So if you want to influence who is President, you need to be in the biggest group. The Conservative's did belong to the biggest group, the centre right EPP until 2009. The Conservatives were in the most influential majority group. Then Cameton jumped ship and joined a minor grouping, with a quarter of the MEPs of the EPP and no influence. So there is no chance the Conservative's preferred candidate can win.

Does anyone above the age of 2 believe anything politicians ever say?
There's no chance of the UK getting a referendum on the EU. Like all politicians wriggling out of everything they say, DC will find some way of backtracking. Count on it.........and that why nobody has any trust in him anymore.
