Furniture Delivery Service From The Uk To Spain?

As the cost of furniture in Spain is astronomical, would it be cheaper to buy in the uk and get it shipped to your home in Spain?

I very much doubt it would be.. You would have to pay for collection from your home and delivery to a UK Port. Furniture then placed into Shed at the port, awaiting shipment...Rates are Not cheap for individual items. Cargo handling costs at two ports (UK & Spain) Shipping Agents Charges...Freightage aboard ship and delivery costs when the furniture arrives in Spain. Plus the trouble of suitably packaging the items to avoid damage in Transit and also arranging adequate Insurance.

UK to the Balearics is very expensive, but as you live on mainland Spain (Madrid) I would buy in Spain.

Also depending upon how you intend to pay, remember that the £ is strong against the €.

i am anti ikea, its so frustrating when you look at prices in furniture shops in madrid, such silly overinflated prices. eg i bought a double bed mattress in brum a couple of years ago, not bad quality, for under a 100 quid, the same thing would cost me about 400 euros in madrid. as for sofas, not much for under a grand.
