The HGV Driver that had that accident with a Mini bus on the M62 near Leeds last year, it was reported that the Mini Bus Driver caused this by a Clutch Problem!!!! I can not understand this as the vehicle could still be driven even if the clutch had gone unless is was on a hill, the only hill I can think of around that area is the one passed the M602 Going to Bradford & leading up the Hartshead Services Westbound, can any one explain?

You can control a car if you knew you had a clutch problem.

Try and change gear and your clutch isn't working can cause people to panic.
From Baldric's link:

"They quickly became aware of a burning smell and asked Johnson, of Whytecote End, Wyke, Bradford, to stop the vehicle.

He did stop the bus, which was later found to have a badly burnt-out clutch, and made a brief "cursory" examination but said he could not find a problem.

He continued the journey but the bus slowed to a crawl and was doing just 5.5mph at the time of the crash.."
per previous - the truck driver was led into a trap, he would never have expected a vehicle to be travelling as slowly as that in normal traffic conditions (its brake lights would not have been on), it's unlikely he would have realized the danger until a collision was inevitable. He was completely exonerated.
