No, I wasn't a fan either. For my generation, who became a teenager in 1965, Last was too much of a "square" for me. But I echo andy's comments though.

He was a more than accomplished musician in his own right as well as an arranger band leader, and composer of Happy Heart, a superbly crafted song by any standard..

Sold over a 100 million albums !..that takes some doing, most artists would like to sell 10,000 !
Not my cup of tea but he was in a class of his own and deserves just about every music accolade going...

Not a fan either. I remember my dad watching his television show in the 1970s and I hated it. I was more of a Victor Borge fan. Andre Reiu is probably his successor (Don't like him either).
