Bangladesh is one of the poorest countries in the world. Don't underestimate the importance of money to them. Who knows what we'd do if we were starving?
Question Author
I was thinking that as I typed, jno. However, my attitude , although emotional perhaps, remains the same.
Surely it's not the starving people receiving the money.
Tigers will bring the tourists into the area - that would be an ongoing income.

Is there any reason that people don't eat tigers? Some countries see cats and dogs as another food source. (I think that it is horrible, but I eat cows etc so am not really in a place to judge).

The poachers would get paid a little, which to them might equate to a lot of money; however, the people who sell the skins and various body parts to the rich customers would make a lot more.
So if the dentist paid $35,000 who would that money go to?
Question Author
Well, he wasn't a poacher per se: he was, or is, a "trophy" hunter. The money he paid I imagine went to his guides, and they in turn paid their helpers.
