It was a long slow Spring and horrible early 'Summer' here, but August has been really good! Windy (warm winds) but blue skies and warm with a day's rain per week. Local farmers have had a good harvest, still some late grain to get in but they're happy that after today's rain another couple of dry days will bring in the rest at good quality.

We sang out of doors as well at garden parties etc.. Didn't get rained on, we were lucky! Better than La Vienne - it's been 6 weeks with no rain and 40C! Not healthy or pleasant, believe me.

Thanks for asking, gness. A bit brighter now; I've been feeling fairly horrible all day. I diidn't have any medication at all (1 vit. pill per day and I cod-liver-oil capsule per week) and these very strong painkillers and anti-inflammatories which the hospital has issued have really upset my system. Had a terrible night, felt shaky and ill all morning and fell asleep, then spewed up just before lunch. Back to sleep for a bit this aft. and now have come round a bit.

It has to get better! Mr. J2 is turning up trumps and thoroughly enjoying the medic-backed instruction to nag me into being careful! I'm managing to cook anyway. Not looking forward to the night :(

I'll live. Please excuse any grumpiness or vagueness for the next week or so! :) xx
