I would like to visit the Klondike, interested in the old mining/gold rush era, no plans as yet, any advice, anyone done the trail ? any books I should read first ?

Possibly the best book ever about the Klondike is 'Klondike' by Pierre Berton, a Vancouver journalist. Though published in 1958, it's as fresh today as it was then.
