Does anyone understand what's going on in China as regards the govt's obsession with zero Covid and it's constant lockdowns etc? These are inevitably leading to civil unrest.

// Unless of course they know exactly how it's designed to play out //

mmmm, i wondered if they know something about the pathology of the virus that they've so far hidden from the rest of the world?
I have no idea why the Chinese government is obsessed with lockdowns. I can only assume that they believe their own brainwashing and feel that they can no longer turn back due to saving face. The Chinese are a very superstitious people and the older members of the population trust Chinese medicine before western medicine which is why many of them have refused the vaccine. Plus the Chinese vaccine isn't terribly good and the government won't want to ask Pfizer etc for something better (saving face again).
I don’t think this madness is about control of Covid - I think it’s about control of people.

@23.15.Can you give us any evidence of mass British rebellions against lockdown,Roy.I cant recall any.
there were anti covid groups protesting in the capital, perhaps the difference here is they were anti vaxxers mostly.
No comparison roy.. uk lockdowns didn't stop you going out shopping or driving and lasted less long. Chinese have been locked in apartments on and off for 3years!
its all about the suppression of the people. It works.
