Here's a tip from Charles Dickens's character Wilkins Micawber.

Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen and six, result happiness.

Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pound ought and six, result misery.

You have identified the problem.

The solution is with you.

You need to find some willpower.

Or rather some won't power.

Take out only the money you need for the day, in cash, leave your cards at home.

^^ As Andy says.

Have a look at the 50-30-20 rule here...

It helps you allocate money according to type of expense. That way you'll have a certain amount you can use for extras, while knowing necessities are taken care of. It's helped me. If you really find it difficult to resist temptation, just don't carry money or cards or just the equivalent of bus fare.

I normally take a few seconds and think, "Do I really need that". Sometimes that works.

I take a few days...or more. Depends on the size of the expenditure.

£....or££...or...£££

Passengers travelling by economy will see the tax added to the cost of their fare raised from £6.50 to £7 under plans announced in last year's Budget due to come into effect from April. Travellers using premium economy or business class flights will see the duty increase from £13 to £14. Tax for private jets remains frozen at £78.

Sorry! wrong thread

Make a detailed shopping list before you go out and then stick to it. (By 'detailed', I mean writing down things like "Tesco instant coffee", rather than just "coffee", so that you don't get tempted to buy Kenco, or similar, just because it's on special offer).

Buy the Kenco if it's cheaper than shop's own brand. 😉

Thanks for sharing these insightful tips on managing expenses! It's always beneficial to explore different avenues to save money. While I appreciate the suggestions provided in the article, I also wanted to highlight an interesting platform I came across – https://icoholder.com/en/stos/past. ;Considering the theme of this article, ICOHolder could be an additional resource for those looking into investment opportunities or staying updated on past Security Token Offerings (STOs).
