With all due respect, i think their will is guarantees that borders of Israel will stay at projection of that they have right now. And i think someone told the same as all of you about Vietnam war once before. but they aren't just waging war on terrorists are they. they're going after all palestinians.

we have seen this before... it did not take long for the USA to use 9/11 as a reason to wage wars that they were desperate to carry out anyway and the situation is quite similar here.

if israel's goal is truly to destroy hamas and rescue the hostages then they aren't doing very well. god alone knows how many hostages were killed during israel's wildly indiscriminate and murderous bombing campaigns... some were killed by IDF soldiers because they were carrying white flags and Israelis frequently shoot people who are doing that 

as for hamas... the heaps of slaughtered children and other innocents will just create more people bent on getting revenge on Israel. so i doubt very much they are going to succeed on that front.

Not true - they are going after Hamas fighters* who are deeply embedded with Gazan civilians. Of course in those circumstance there will be civilian caualties. The answer is for Hamas to surrender or for the Gazans to give them up.

I would hope that with the severity of the Israeli action Gazans will shun any support for Hamas in future.

*and any Oct 7 hostages that are still alive

even israeli academics have found that the majority of people killed have been civilians. at the very beginning of the war Daniel Hagari announced that the goal of the IDF was "damage and not accuracy" 

then there is the significant increase in aggression and violence on the part of israeli settlers in the west bank who are armed by the government. rather difficult to explain that away as being about hamas.
