I had a dull headache early mornings for a few days but nobody else in the house complained or noticed any difference

Same with me.  I bought the decaffeinated for a friend and started using it when the regular stuff ran out.  Until I next get to the shop I'll brew a few cups of strong tea.

Depends how much of the ordinary you were drinking,  I would probably step down by having a few days half and half before going fully decaf.    Mostly all you get is a bit of a headache and a bit of tiredness.

we switched to decaf many years ago, and remember feeling a bit headachey etc for a few days, but it soon passed, and we don't drink anything other than decaf nowadays.  We rarely have coffee in a restaurant, post-dinner, because we're never sure whether or not we are actually getting decaf - it has happened once or twice.  Although coffee shops are usually very good.

I didn't but then I only drank two mugs first thing in the morning.

However, my cousin over here from America couldn't understand why he was getting lots of headaches until he realised we only drank decaf, he'd been used to drinking pints and pints of Starbucks full hit daily.

I never drink coffee. NEVER!

If you are getting withdrawal symptoms, it shows how bad it is for you.

"I never drink coffee. NEVER!"

Then why answer this thread?  Pointless.

I have not noticed any difference. One cup of coffee in the morning.

This is chatterbank (the home of natter and nonsense) and I regard the NEVER comment as perfectly valid here.

Just saying.

I know gingebee. A bit like coffee, I suppose.

Yes you could experience brain fog or headache, from lacking caffine, but the extent of withdrawl would really depend on how much coffee you drank before.

I drink 8 cups each day, about 4 pints in total.
