Opinions are like...

Hello everyone,
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Over the last couple of weeks there have been a few users complaining about certain editorial decisions and others demanding to know the names of user moderators. This is becoming rather tiresome so I thought I would address these issues here.
As always, I will start with a phrase that I so often find myself repeating.
"All editorial decisions are final. The editorial team will not enter into discussion concerning the decisions they make".
The large majority of AnswerBank users understand this, which we at AB Towers are extremely grateful for. There are some people, however, who think they are above the system we have in place and continually question user suspensions and post removal (often their own). When these folk are told not to complain we begin to see swathes of posts that go something like this:
"I didn't even do anything!"
"My post was fine, I said nothing wrong!"
"Am I not allowed an opinion? What about my rights?!"
"Stop keeping me down, maaaaaaan."
This is usually interspersed with pseudo-babble about the theory of the separation of powers and quotes like "Who will watch the watchers?". I start to get the impression that some of you are nurturing the idea of a great political struggle with the Eds. Although this notion must seem quite charming and Winston Smith-esque to you, I would like to say that the editorial team view it differently.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Allow me to clarify: We're not here to silence or stop you from posting your opinions. We are here to moderate an ever-growing website that caters for all different tastes, personalities and faiths. We cannot please everyone, but we certainly try our best to. Just because its "your opinion" doesn't mean that it has a place on our website or that its right. If it offends people or breaks Site Rules it will be removed. There will always be arguments, there will always be friction and there will be disagreements with our policies. I advise the people who aren't happy with our decisions to take a step back for a second, realise that we're a Q+A website and take 10 minutes to cool-off. It's not a big deal nor is it worth complaining about.
For those who want to know who the moderators are... well, tough, we're not telling you. Their privacy comes first. They do a great job of policing The AnswerBank and keeping the trolls at bay, so don't knock them because if they weren't around you would be moaning a lot more than you are now.
On a unrelated note, we have two new polls which we'd like you to cast your opinions on:
The dangers of not updating your home contents insurance - http://www.theanswerb.../Question1001002.html
Time for a road trip? - http://www.theanswerb.../Question1000993.html
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to the AnswerBank Minitrue for my daily dose of AB revisionism.

I can't say I give a monkeys who the moderators are.
I am self-moderating, personally. Having said that, I think I must have come quite close to being banned on a few occasions - though for smut and humour too near the knuckle rather than abuse, offence or downright nastiness. I personally think we get away with a lot on AB and CB in particular.
(And you, Ed, are the only person I know to use the phrase pseudo-babble other than my BF. Are you sure you are not my BF? ACtually, if you were, I'd probably have been dumped by now for gross misconduct and disclosure of intimate things, so ignore that.....)
