You must use the same email address for both AB and Gravatar so either add your AB email to your Gravatar profile or change your AB email in your AB profile.

I find it all confusing.

You have been a member for more than four years and have suddenly become very active. However, although you have qualified for an Avatar , there appears to be a difficulty with placing it into AB.

Or you have not checked the box on your AB profile to activate the avatar (and don't forget to click the confirm/submit button)

Just right click on anyone's avatar, select copy image location, remove the referer part from the end of the URL and you've got a link to a users gravatar (there is no personal information in the link)

I think ABerrant is simply using the fact that the problem is almost always that the wrong email address is being used. His links don't show anything we can't see.

The big long number on the end of the gravater link is an encrypted version the email address from this site, if it doesn't link to a valid gravatar account then the two email addresses don't match.

there is nothing sinister about it, it's just knowing how the system works.
