Subscribing to a question

I have searched previous questions in this category and haven't found a satisfactory answer, my apologies if I have missed one that does answer my question. Should we be getting daily emails telling us of updates to subscribed questions? I subscribe to loads because I am generally interested and yet only receive updates once per week, by which time the threads have gone cold, so to speak.

I am finding that too Glossopswift, I used to get regular (almost instantaneous) emails, but I now find its just quicker to look on the site myself.

It is a pain isn't it? It's especially difficult on the more popular categories such as TV & film, music or sport where so many new questions are posted each day so you have to go back to find the one you want, just to check if there is anything new.
