I don't get it. That article states:
'If you haven’t given your consent, you have the right to object,

By posting to AB you are giving your consent.

I don't know if this clarifies it anymore.

/// New EU laws announced yesterday, which mean social networking sites and companies will be forced to delete inaccurate or embarrassing information about people online should be applauded. ///
No.
The 3rd Rule of AB Club...

"• Do not post any personal information belonging to you or others including full name, address or phone number as it can easily be misused by others. We strongly advise you against posting links to personal photographs."
"Will these new EU laws have an effect on AnswerBank?"

I don't think so. I will ask around and see if we can expect any changes.

Obviously one would be a fool to give out information such as that.

I don't think it refers to that, but what it does refer to is the fact that if someone was to publish on the net, some untruths about about a person, then this new law would give that person, the chance to have that accusation deleted from the web site.

See the excerpt that I posted.

AB Editor Thank you.
Any such personal information given out on this website is quickly tidied away out of sight by the Editorial team in any case.

No-one would have cause to invoke a Law because Answerbank is responsibly moderated and edited in 'real-time'.
I can't see where it says things other people may have posted, only things you have posted yourself?
aog - from your links...

"New EU laws announced yesterday, which mean social networking sites and companies will be forced to delete inaccurate or embarrassing information about people online" ... "But they still don’t go far enough and solve what is the even bigger issue – how to control what other people write about you online."

"The data concerned will be everything an individual has given the companies themselves, including posts, uploaded songs and photos"
