Might be better to have a gender symbol by the user name it would prevent a few oooops moments...

I think it can be useful. On another website I have joined in the past we had option to put in birthday. Then on each day at the bottom of the page it shows whose birthdays are that day.
I've been mistaken for a man a few times :-(
Why is it important, do some people, like a regular contributer to the news section, feel more comfortable trying to brow beat/bully a female to agree with their viewpoint, or maybe their are posters on here who are just not at ease with the opposite sex?
The birthdays list would be good could it not show which birthday too.... not that I am evil or anything mwahhhaaaaahaaahaaa
I wouldn't mind a B'day indicator, but, my B'day on my profile keeps resetting itself to a 'default' date, showing me born in 2009, and will not reset whatever I do to it?
I've been told to go away in sport... by someone whose later posts proved their knowlwedge of the subject was scanty at least
No.
Can't see as it really matters.
it would be handy, esp when saying i agree/disagree with him/her ...
I like it as it is. I sometimes check before answering. I`ve been mistaken a few times for a man. Only on here I hasten to add. It made a difference to the answers I got and I purchased a better razor.
Perhaps we should have gender free avatars?
I'd quite like to see a 'moderator' symbol so we know who the prefects are.
Yes, I answer differently between men and women so like to check.
No, probably unnecessary
I don't think we need it - we know that some people lie just to confuse us, so it's not a reliable piece of information. There's no birthday information on my profile....?
Shoota - I don't want to know who the MODs are. I don't want to change the way I am towards them.
I wouldn't want that either, I think it would inhibit them - or they'd keep being set up with people testing them. As it is, we don't know who they are (apart from the couple who have made it know).
oh yes, I see I was born in 2009 as well. I'm quite creaky for a toddler.

Anyway, no, it's not necessary. We angels don't have sex, we just have chocolate.
It's not needed but it's not compulsory either.

If one is not fussed whether they are mistaken tfor the opposite gender then not sure it's such a big deal. Show it if it's filled in, not if it's not.
