I am experiencing difficulties with FireFox.

When I click on Firefox to open up my homepage (that being Virgin), all I get is the address bar.

I now have to use my other internet browser (Windows Internet Explorer) to get on the AnswerBank site.

I have recently had some trouble with a Trojan, which AVG got rid of, I have even tried to do a system restore but for some reason it won't allow me to even though I have selected two different restore points.

Can anyone help please?

Thank you for your answer Chuck.

I have done as you requested and the 'No Proxy' is selected, but I still can only get the virgin address bar to open, the rest of the screen shows the wallpaper with my programme icons on.

I am answering this via my Microsoft internet explorer.

Would it be an idea to remove Firefox and re-install it, or do you suggest removing Firefox as my browser and using a less troublsome browser?
At the top right of your Firefox window you'll see a red box with an "X" in it. Immediately to the left of that are two other boxes. Immediately to the left of all three boxes is a blue bar.

Double-click the blue bar.

Does that help?
It sounds like the window has just been shrunk down from what you've just said.

Try moving the cursor over the bottom edge of the visible part of firefox and then when(if) the cursor turns to a double ended arrow click and hold the left mouse button and pull the window down until it's the size you want

(ellipsis will maximise the window, which would work but it's likely to return to just the top bar unless you pull the window back out to a decent size for when it's not maximised.)

Thank you so much Chuck it is the simple things that work, especially if one is part way there.

I am so pleased that I can now use Firefox once again.

Thank you also Ellipsis for your answer, it was very good of you to offer help.
