Am I the only person who is totally disinterested with Facebook & Twitter? I have no intention of signing up with either or posting my private business for all to read.
How about having a poll? For Facebook/Twitter or against Facebook/Twitter.
Do you not realise DSJ, that you can email friends and family privately on FB. No one can see your private emails. I've just replied to my daughter who is currently working on a cruise ship off Portugal, plus I can see all her photos.
I'm on Facebook, but only keep it now to keep up with distant relatives but I have a Twitter addiction. I love it. And I'm sooooooo bored of hearing people who have never used it moan about how awful/pointless/stupid it is.
It took me a while but once I stopped following self centred celebs and picked up a bunch of funny accounts I'm always on it. There are some hilarious people out there that I'd never have known about otherwise. Plus I use it to see what's going on locally.
Whats the point of a poll?
Well I don't drive so whats the point of any of them? I wonder if Ed passes the the info from that to an interested third party ;0)
I don't bother with Facebook or Twitter. And I'm pretty sure that no-one else is bothered about my not bothering - apart from those companies who seem to be tripping over themselves in a rush to add a Facebook and Twitter facility to their websites ;-)
Having a list of my friends collected on one page in Facebook gives me the comfort of knowing where I can find any of them to contact easily any time I want. I can also see what they've been doing and look at the photos they post without ever getting in touch with them. In fact, since I joined Facebook I never contact any friends any more and have become a recluse!! Thank goodness I have never got into Twatter.
I use Twitter to follow local news, the council, local police, national news - that way I keep up with road closures, diversions and things pertinent to me.
I also follow Jeremy Vine because it is interesting/amusing to read opinions of his show whilst it is on air.
I follow a computer magazine - they are very helpful and the quizzes are good.
I have used Facebook for years, and love it. Its a great way to keep in touch with far flung (and those close by) friends and relatives. I'm a recent convert to Twitter, but love that too. I've had several of my tweets read out on the radio! If you dont like either,as far as I am aware, there is no law saying that you have to use them!
