I made an answer to this post

http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Quizzes-and-Puzzles/Crosswords/Question1210627.html

where I simply asked the O-poster why s/he doubted sidecar as an answer.

My post was removed.

Can you please expand as to why?

I don't think you're going to get an answer as to why the answer was removed.
well maybe the OP had never heard of a sidecar but worked out that it was a probable fit. You don't see many sidecars these days i guess. though actually why that should explain why your question to the OP was removed I don't know.
Do you think they meant to remove Factor's slightly tongue in cheek response (the OP did post 27 questions yesterday) and deleted yours by mistake?
who is 'they' though craft?
I don't know the answer to your question....... but it is an absolute outrage!
could be the Spanish Inquisition, dotty, they don't get to do much regular inquisiting to do these days so they might moonlight as mods.
No idea dotty................
It's the deadly new virus Mod that many are referring to.......
If your reply was worded politely without any sarcasm or suchlike (as I am sure it was ) then it looks like a mistake.
I remember your post, puternut, and it never occurred to me that someone might report it.

Thanks factor30 et al.

Was just a bit miffed at removal when I see many many other downright nasty replies get through the net.
Bloody annoying,innit puter.
Don't let them grind you down.
Yes, looks like a mistake to me. We all suffer from fat fingers sometimes.

"Was just a bit miffed at removal when I see many many other downright nasty replies get through the net."

What do you do about it? Do you report it? Because if you don't you're not making anything better...

A related query - why do we have to provide a password when we report something?
It's not removed on the link I'm looking at, puternut - it's still the final Q on that thread?
th Ed's unremoved it, boxtops
Ah - I was confused :-)
"A related query - why do we have to provide a password when we report something?"

Because it's easier than a captcha code for some.
