Strings Of Jokes
22 Answers
I know this is going to come across as if I am a miserable old woman, well maybe I am. Can anything be done about the posters who post long strings of questions each question consisting of one (usually old or unfunny or both) joke?
They bump down the genuine questions in the new post lists and generally clog up the screen. By me it verges on spamming the site.
Okay MOW rant over

Its a bit much when you get six or more in a string. sqad, the thread that you mention are only one thread at a time with loads of answers, not many threads
>>>Are they any worse than long lists of "happy birthdays.......how long will this last?........what are you having for lunch?.......
But those questions don't appear on AB's front page anyway, Sqad. (You have to go into Chatterbank, or spot them under 'Latest posts', to find them).
I simply wish that somehow (on an already cluttered front page, I know) the Ed could find separate areas for 'serious' questions and 'non-serious' ones. As it stands, someone considering using this site for the first time (to post a serious question, perhaps about health issues or personal relationships) may well be put off from doing so if the only posts showing on the front page are jokes.
Woofgang's post simply echoes what I've been thinking for quite some time but, like Woofgang, I didn't want to appear grumpy by saying anything about it. Jokes should be retained but should either be given a separate space on the front page or, simpler (like posts in CB), removed from it.

It can't be that difficult to do something like this

Serious, slower moving stuff at the top and the fast moving nonsense at the bottom.
